Description

The MARTA V-Neck Jumper “Summer Edition” is knitted top-down in one piece using increases along the shoulder yoke and by picking up stitches from the knitted sections. The fit is very wide, short, and boxy with a deep V-neck and half-length sleeves. The lightweight slip-on sweater can be finished with two different hem and sleeve options (I-cord or 2 x 2 ribbing).

First, the stitches for the right and left front bands are knitted, then stitches are picked up along the long edges of both bands. Afterwards, stitches are increased along the shoulder yoke while simultaneously working short rows to shape the back neckline.

Once all increases along the shoulder yoke are completed, the left and right front pieces are worked first, then the back piece down to the armholes, and finally joined again in the round. The jumper gains extra length at the sides and back through short rows.

For the sleeves, stitches are picked up from the armholes and worked in the round.

The wide “Summer Edition” version of the MARTA Jumper with the deep V-neck can be beautifully combined with slim summer dresses or worn over tank tops with fitted skirts or jeans.

The pattern includes a detailed schematic with all measurements, a blank schematic for notes or conversions, and a technical drawing for the short rows at the back neckline.
