Description
The MIKA Summer V Shirt is a wonderfully airy short-sleeved shirt.

The ultra-light shirt with a deep V-neck pairs especially well with summer dresses with short sleeves or spaghetti straps and can be worn with the V either at the front or at the back.

Description

The MIKA Summer V Shirt is a short-sleeved shirt with a deep V-neck and a deeply shaped back neckline, allowing the shirt to be worn with the V-neck at the back.

The shirt features integrated sleeves and is worked from the top down.

First, the left and right back sections are worked separately and the back neckline is shaped with increases before joining them.

Then the right front and afterwards the left front are attached, and the increases for the V-neck are worked.

Under the arms, all pieces are joined together. The sleeves are shaped with decreases, and further increases for the neckline are worked.

Once the V-neck is closed, the piece is continued in the round to the end.

The hem is finished with an I-cord.

Finally, stitches are picked up along the V-neck and an I-cord is worked there as well.

Pattern and gauge

Main pattern: stockinette stitch (RS knit, WS purl), in the round knit every round

Note: Since my purl stitches are looser than my knit stitches, I used a needle ½ size smaller for the wrong-side rows to achieve an even stitch appearance.

Held double with 6.5 mm needles for right-side rows and 6 mm for wrong-side rows, or adjust needle size to obtain gauge in the main pattern:
10 x 10 cm = 14 stitches x 19 rows
