Description

The MARTA Summer Shirt is an airy, fluffy mohair shirt with 3 sleeve variations. Without sleeves it looks like an 80s-style shirt and can also be worn as a slipover with a T-shirt or blouse underneath. With short or 3/4 sleeves and a top or summer dress underneath, it keeps you warm on cool summer mornings or evenings.

The MARTA Summer Shirt is a cropped mohair shirt with a boat neckline, knitted in one piece from the top down. It can be worked either sleeveless, with short sleeves, or with 3/4 sleeves. All necklines and edges are finished with an I-cord.

The shoulder yoke with the increases is worked flat at first, due to the short rows used to shape the back and front neckline. After that, the increases are worked in the round.

After the shoulder yoke, the front piece is worked first, and later the back piece, separately with decreases down to the armholes. Then both pieces are joined again in the round and finished together.

At the armholes, stitches are picked up and either a short sleeve is worked in the round, or the armhole is bound off immediately with an I-cord.

The detailed pattern includes a technical drawing for the short rows at the neckline and a detailed schematic with all measurements, as well as a blank schematic for notes or conversions.
