Description
The MALIA Cardigan is a simple oversized cardigan in the trendy raspberry stitch pattern.
It is worked top-down, starting with the back band. The band can be knitted in three different widths, allowing you to choose between a narrow, medium, or wide shawl collar.
The mint/yellow cardigan with color fade has a wide shawl collar. The striped MALIA Cardigan in berry tones has a medium shawl collar (see photo gallery).
Stitches for the back are newly cast on, and at the back neckline stitches are picked up along the long edge of the back band so that the band is integrated directly into the garment.
Stitches for the front pieces are picked up from the shoulders of the back piece, incorporating the band again on each side.
Back and fronts are worked separately to the end of the armholes, then joined and finished together as the body. Sleeve stitches are picked up from the armholes and worked in the round.
The pattern includes both the written instructions and separate charts for the raspberry stitch in rows and in the round.
