Description

The WILMA Jumper is a chunky sweater in textured half brioche with a wide neckline. The wide hem bands in smooth half brioche are the standout feature of this simple design.

The garment is worked as a raglan-from-the-top (top-down raglan / RVO) using double increases.

First, stitches are cast on onto a circular needle using a crochet hook. This method creates a neat, simple, and—most importantly—stable edge.

After that, the sweater is worked entirely in the round, with increases along the raglan lines during the yoke.

At the underarm, the work is split into sleeves and body. The body is finished in the round first.

Finally, the sleeve stitches are picked up again and the sleeves are also worked in the round.

All hems are worked in smooth half brioche.

STITCH PATTERN AND GAUGE

Half brioche with yarn overs, worked with 3 strands using yarn option 1.

With 10 mm needles (or adjust needle size to obtain gauge
(if you knit very loosely, choose needles 1 mm smaller for all stated sizes, wash the swatch and make sure the half brioche keeps its structure—otherwise the sweater may stretch out too much!)

NEEDLES

Circular needle 10 mm, 40, 55 cm and 80 cm (body and sleeves)
