Description

Knitting Pattern Maya Blouse: Circular yoke sweater in a blouse shape with I-cord tie, deep keyhole neckline, and balloon sleeves. The sweater can also be worn with the neckline at the back.

Description

The Maya Blouse is worked top-down with a circular yoke. In a circular yoke construction, the increases for the sleeves as well as the back and front pieces are distributed evenly across the yoke and worked within the same round.

The blouse is first worked flat in rows and then joined in the round, creating a deep straight neckline. The I-cord tie, which is attached afterwards, allows you to either knot the neckline casually or tie it into a bow. The cropped cut pairs perfectly with skirts or high-waisted trousers. Thanks to the top-down technique, the neckline depth, total length, and sleeve length can easily be adjusted.

The hem and sleeve hems are also finished with an I-cord bind-off. The tight I-cord finishes create a balloon effect at the sleeves and at the hips.

The pattern includes a detailed schematic with all required measurements in Appendix 1, as well as a blank schematic in Appendix 2 for notes and adjustments. The model is 164 cm tall and is wearing size S.

SIZES / MEASUREMENTS

Finished garment measurements:

Detailed measurements can be found in the schematic in Appendix 1.
The blank schematic in Appendix 2 can be used for notes and conversions.

Size Selection Examples

If your bust measurement is 85 cm, this corresponds to size S.
The finished Maya Blouse in size S has a bust circumference of 96 cm, giving you a personal positive ease of 96 cm – 85 cm = 11 cm.

If your bust measurement is 98 cm, you are exactly between sizes M and L.
The finished blouse measures 106 cm in size M and 115 cm in size L.
This results in 8 cm positive ease in size M and 17 cm in size L.
You should decide whether you prefer the blouse to be looser or more fitted and choose your size accordingly.

PATTERN AND GAUGE

Yarn requirements
When knitting with 4 strands for sizes S, L, and XL, either use the higher yarn quantity or wind the last ball into two strands so you can work one strand from the center and one from the outside.

If you knit with a different yarn, for example holding only 2 strands together, you may calculate with the lower yarn consumption.

For comparison with other yarn qualities:
Yarn weight when knitting with 4 strands held together is approx. 0.33 g per meter.

The suggested alternative yarns have produced the same gauge in other knitting projects and serve as inspiration only. The stated yarn consumption is based solely on calculations.
